Safeguarding

Our parish of Upton-cum-Chalvey is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

Policy guidance on responding to concerns or allegations is found in the Parish Safeguarding Handbook.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Parish Safeguarding Officer Allan James
tel: 01753 532 425 email: safeguarding.ucc@gmail.com
or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor
for details, see www.oxford.anglican.org/safeguarding
(note Slough is in the Buckingham episcopal area)

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services. Call 999 if a child or adult is in immediate danger of significant or serious harm.

Slough Children’s Services can be contacted via www.sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk/first-contact

For concerns about an adult contact via www.sloughsafeguardingpartnership.org.uk/sasp/sasp/report-abuse/worried-about-an-adult-1

The parish safeguarding policy can be viewed here. The policy takes account of the policy statement from the House of Bishops Promoting a Safer Church.
